I wish to ask the hon. and gallant Member two questions. When he wrote that letter and invited those replies, did he explain to the people he was inviting to give an opinion what the present state of the law was? This is very important. The other question I ask him, in view of his personal and kindly reference to myself, is whether he does not realise that there is a small section of psychopathic opinion in this country which loves the rope more than it hates the murder'?
