asked the Prime Minister whether he will advise the establishment of a Royal Commission to investigate the procedure and practice of awarding official honours, and to make recommendations.

A very disappointing reply. Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is now a considerable degree of hilarious cynicism as soon as his own list is produced? If he will not set up a Royal Commission, would he not be well advised to scrap the whole disreputable procedure of giving political awards to party political hacks?

Will the right hon. Gentleman think about this matter again? It is really rather unfair to those isolated Scottish Tories who are not members of the "night shift".
