asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce amending legislation at an early date to give discretion to coroners concerning cremation where an offence is alleged and prosecution is pending under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Act, 1960.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
