asked the Lord Privy Seal whether the views of Her Majesty's Government with regard to the relevance of Article 2(7) of the United Nations Charter to the racial policies of the Government of the Republic of South Africa remain as stated by the United Kingdom representative in the Special Political Committee of the United Nations on 31st October, 1961, and 20th October 1962.

The remarks in question should be read as references to the statement made by the United Kingdom representative in the Special Political Committee on 5th April, 1961, in which the full views of Her Majesty's Government were given.
