asked the Minister of Education whether, in view of the circular issued by him on 20th March, 1959, he has yet completed his discussions with representatives of the authorities and the teachers on the duties of teachers in connection with the provision of school meals; and if he will make a statement.

Yes, Sir. I have asked local education authorities to consider ways of reducing the burden falling on teachers, and I propose to review from time to time the way things are going.

While I appreciate the reply which has been given by the Minister, may I ask him to be good enough to go into the various proposals which have been made to him by teachers who, in many cases, find the burden an extremely heavy one, and ensure that relief is given as speedily as possible?
