Oral Answers to Questions — Transport – in the House of Commons at 12:00 am on 25th March 1959.
asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will consider raising the present speed limit of 30 miles-per-hour for cars with light trailers.
I am not in a position to make a statement on this matter at the moment.
Has not this matter been under consideration by my right hon. Friend for nearly a year? Will he bear in mind that this speed limit is now really archaic in modern conditions of brakes and roads?
If my hon. Friend refers in particular to the towing of boats en trailers, I must inform him that some boats are very long and constitute a considerable obstacle on the road.
