asked the President of the Board of Trade how many factories on the various trading estates in the North-East are untenanted; what steps he has taken to date to find tenants for them; and what are the prospects.

Five, Sir. All our regional controllers are using their best endeavours to find suitable tenants. We have succeeded within recent months in re-letting four factories in the North-East.

Would not the hon. Gentleman agree that these closed factories are a monument to the success of the Government's economic and financial policies? Will he assure us that in the immediate months ahead the Government will tackle the problem of creating new employment as keenly as they pursued policies to create unemployment?
