asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has considered the Report of the Bankruptcy Law Amendment Committee; and to what extent he proposes to give effect to the Committee's recommendations.

This Report is still under consideration. I am afraid that I see little prospect of early legislation.

As this first comprehensive review of an important subject for nearly fifty years has shown the need for reform both to deter the dishonest bankrupt and to help the unfortunate bankrupt, will the hon. Gentleman seek an opportunity to make as early an announcement as possible?
