asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the continuing decline of trade at the port of Goole; and whether he will conduct an investigation into its cause with a view to taking steps to improve the position.

Will the right hon. Gentleman take into account the fact that the trade at Goole port depends very largely on the National Coal Board, the Central Electricity Authority and the British Transport Commission, and will he consider calling an all-party, all-trades conference in Goole to consider the present position and ways of improving it?
