Oral Answers to Questions — Roads – in the House of Commons at 12:00 am on 13 February 1957.
asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what progress has been made with the preparatory work necessary for the construction of the Great North Road, Doncaster by-pass.
The draft scheme showing the proposed route of the Doncaster by-pass was published last July. A number of objections have been raised by agricultural and other interests, but I hope soon to be able to resolve these and to proceed with the making of the scheme. As soon as that has been done, I shall issue a formal invitation to the agent authority to undertake the detailed preparatory work.
