asked the President of the Board of Trade what action he has taken, in the interests of our export trade, following the 50 per cent. increase by the United States of America on imported bicycles; and what success has been gained by his representations.

The United States Government have agreed to enter into consultation under Article XIX of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade for compensation in respect of this increased duty.
