asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government when he will be able to give his decision on the Worcestershire County Development Plan.

The Worcestershire Plan has to be considered together with those of the City of Birmingham and the counties of Staffordshire and Warwickshire. The issues involved are by no means simple and will take some while longer to resolve.

Will my hon. Friend and his right hon. Friend bear in mind that particularly in that part of the county which is near to Birmingham, there is considerable pressure for building land and that the hand of the county council in dealing fairly with that pressure would be much strengthened if the development plan were available and approved?
