Oral Answers to Questions — British Army – in the House of Commons at 12:00 am on 2nd November 1954.
asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will direct that Army learner lorry drivers frequent busy thoroughfares to a less extent than they are at present doing.
Learner drivers in the Army, as in civil life, must get experience in heavy traffic. The roads they use for training are carefully selected and they do not use congested roads until the later stages of their training. I will certainly look into any complaints about a particular area.
