Oral Answers to Questions — Education – in the House of Commons at 12:00 am on 30th October 1952.
asked the Minister of Education what increases she proposes to make in grants to technical colleges; and what are the conditions attaching to such increases.
The arrangements for giving increased grants to some technical colleges in respect of advanced technological work were set out in Circular 255, of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
Will the Minister bear in mind the special needs of important engineering centres like Newcastle and Glasgow, while leaving Manchester to its newly-found reactionary friends?
We shall deal with each college on its merits. Information is coming in from different technical colleges about the particular advanced course that they are arranging.
