It would not be in the public interest to give details of precautions taken to ensure the safety of the mails, and I feel sure the hon. and gallant Member will not press me to do so. I can, however, assure him that the arrangements for safeguarding all mails conveyed by rail are being overhauled in collaboration with the railway authorities and strengthened where necessary.
