Our aim is and must be to restore the benefits of free enterprise while at the same time providing full and effective safeguards for the national interest. We shall try our best to carry through this policy in a conciliatory and constructive spirit, and it is in this spirit that we invite all who have the well-being of this great industry at heart to help us all they can to bring about a fair, workable and lasting settlement.
