– in the House of Commons at 12:00 am on 24 April 1950.
asked the hon. Member for Bristol, North-East, as Chairman of the Kitchen Committee, when it is proposed to restore the service of waiters in the Members' Smoking Room.
The provision of service in the Members' Smoking Room has not yet been considered by the newly constituted Kitchen Committee.
When is this matter likely to be considered, so as to restore this small amenity to Members?
The newly constituted committee has met only once. I have no doubt that it will consider the matter that has been raised, together with a number of other matters.
So that this matter and other matters may be seen in their proper perspective, would the hon. Gentleman urge upon the Leader of the House the desirability of our discussing the report of the late Kitchen Committee, which dealt with many of these problems?
