asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will state the total sum which has now been advanced to the Colonial Development Corporation for the poultry project in the Gambia.

Mr. Creech Jones:

The advances approved total £810,000.

Can the right hon. Gentleman tell us when the British housewife may expect to see some dividend in eggs and poultry for this £800,000 investment?

I am rather hopeful that something will happen next year.
