asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what instructions have been given to regional petroleum officers in cases of motor car owners losing their standard ration books or their petrol coupons through the fraud of a third party.

Regional petroleum officers have authority to replace lost supplementary petrol coupons where they are satisfied this is justified. Cases of lost standard ration books are dealt with at headquarters. The coupons would be replaced if it was clear that their loss was due to fraud by a third party.
