The proportion spent in United States and Canadian dollars on imports into Hong Kong in 1948 was 20 per cent., and in the first eight months of 1949 was 23 per cent. These figures are obtainable from the published trade returns.

Can my right hon. Friend say what is the proportion of dollars earned by re-exports from the Colony?
