asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that by the judgment of the Supreme Court of Mauritius the proceedings of the Legislative Council of the Seychelles on 16th November, 1948, including legislation passed thereat, have been declared invalid owing to the failure of the Governor to nominate a second unofficial member; what action he now proposes to take; what costs have been incurred to date over the legal actions in the courts; and on whom those costs will fall.
