asked the Attorney-General when the report of the Committee of Inquiry into the leasehold laws of this country will be available, or, an interim report dealing with part of the subject.

I understand that the Committee have only recently received all the written evidence, which is very large in amount, and have still to hear some oral evidence. The Committee are aware that it is desirable that their report should be available as soon as possible, but I am not in a position to say when it will be ready. Under their terms of reference they have power to make an interim report, but it is entirely a matter for them whether they think that any matters can be dealt with in isolation and in advance of their report.
