asked the Minister of Labour how many unemployed are registered in Brighton and Hove, how many were registered at the same time last year, and how many of those registered at present were employed in the hotel and entertainment industry.

The number at 16th February was 2,200, including 501 in the hotel and catering industry and 112 in the entertainments industry. At 22nd February, 1947, the number registered as unemployed was 6,846.

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the unemployment figures for the hotel and catering industry have gone up or down in that year?
