Provided that no such order shall be made in respect of: —

  1. (a) any wages or salary payable to any officer of the Crown as such;
  2. (b) any money which is subject to the provisions of any enactment prohibiting or restricting assignment or charging or taking in execution: or
  3. (c) any money payable by the Crown to any person on account of a deposit in the Post Office Savings Bank or in respect of a war savings certificate or national savings certificate.

Clause

A parliamentary bill is divided into sections called clauses.

Printed in the margin next to each clause is a brief explanatory `side-note' giving details of what the effect of the clause will be.

During the committee stage of a bill, MPs examine these clauses in detail and may introduce new clauses of their own or table amendments to the existing clauses.

When a bill becomes an Act of Parliament, clauses become known as sections.
