asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if his Department will provide facilities so that British women, resident in Germany, can make contacts with German women and children, to assist in welfare and social work on a voluntary basis

A beginning has been made with this work, which I hope will increase when physical difficulties, such as the provision of accommodation and heating, have been overcome.

Chancellor

The Chancellor - also known as "Chancellor of the Exchequer" is responsible as a Minister for the treasury, and for the country's economy. For Example, the Chancellor set taxes and tax rates. The Chancellor is the only MP allowed to drink Alcohol in the House of Commons; s/he is permitted an alcoholic drink while delivering the budget.
