asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he is aware that in certain cases where Ministry of Labour immigration permits have been issued for displaced persons to come to this country as domestic workers, the delay in dealing with the applications by the Combined Travel Security Board in Berlin has been such that the Ministry of Labour permit has expired before permission to travel has been given; and what steps he is taking to expedite the business of the Combined Security Board.
The Chancellor - also known as "Chancellor of the Exchequer" is responsible as a Minister for the treasury, and for the country's economy. For Example, the Chancellor set taxes and tax rates. The Chancellor is the only MP allowed to drink Alcohol in the House of Commons; s/he is permitted an alcoholic drink while delivering the budget.
