Mr. McKie:

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that large sums of money, lent to Dutch subjects by British subjects for commercial purposes, have been confiscated by the Germans from the persons concerned; and what steps he will take to recover these debts from the Dutch firms involved.

This matter has been the subject of discussion with the Dutch Government, and I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the "Board of Trade Journal" for 24th November, 1945, which contains a full statement of the position.
