asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in order to encourage exports, some of which may have to be undertaken at or below cost, he will consider granting manufacturers a partial remission of taxation on that portion of their total turnover which is attributable to exports.

I am afraid I could not see my way to propose any such remission of taxation.
