asked the Minister of Health whether his, attention has been called to the recent prosecution of a dental mechanic for taking an impression of a man's me in order to effect the most efficient repair and adjustment of his dentures; and whether, in view of the inadequate supply of dentists, he will give every encouragement to dental mechanics, and assist them to improve their status and technique and to widen the scope of their operations, subject to such supervision as may be desirable.

I have seen a report of the case referred to in the first part of the Question. Legislation dealing with the practice of dentistry is one of the matters referred to the Interdepartmental Committee on Dentistry and, pending the final report of this Committee, I should not be prepared to introduce legislation in the sense suggested in the second part of the Question.
