Yes, Sir. As I stated in reply to a Question on 13th February by the hon. Member for Barnstaple (Sir R. Acland) I had no information about this case beyond what had been reported in a newspaper. The effect of that report was that Vicetti had fought in France in 1939 and later in North Africa, Sicily and Italy; that he had been awarded the D.C.M. and M.M. and had been wounded at Arnhem. There is no trace of this individual in Home Office records, and I am informed that no soldier of this name, or answering to the description given in the newspaper report, can be traced in War Office records as serving, or having served, in the Army or as having been awarded any decoration.
