I am aware that there is need for improvement in Seychelles in regard to social conditions generally. I have approved in principle proposals from the Governor for a re-organisation of the Colony's health services and improvements to the hospital. A director of education was recently appointed to the Colony, and a comprehensive programme of educational reform has been prepared. As regards the last part of the Question, plans for the social and economic development of the Colony are under consideration.
