Major Lloyd George:

The transfer of staff to new accommodation was made as the result o f representations from the staff themselves as to the unsuitability of the old accommodation and in the interests both of efficiency and of security. Artificial light was necessary during practically the whole of the day in the old accommodation, especially during winter months and the fluorescent lighting which has now been installed in the new accommodation is not only superior but is considered on balance to result in a saving of consumption of electricity.
