asked the Prime Minister whether he can now make an announcement regarding the chairmanship of the B.B.C.
The King has been pleased to approve the re-appointment as Chairman and Governor of the British Broadcasting Corporation of Sir Allan Powell, whose term of appointment recently expired. In order to ensure continuity of policy at the present time, Sir Allan Powell consented to serve for such further period as may be decided.
Can the right hon. Gentleman say if, when making changes in the Board of Governors of the B.B.C., he will consider appointing a qualified radio engineer on that Board, so that that side of the service can be represented?
That is one of the questions, information on which we should like to consider.
Will the right hon. Gentleman also consider the whole character of the programme?
