Miss Ward:

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the practice of the War Service Grants Committee to disregard a proportion of a wife's earnings in the assessment of a grant, he will follow the same practice in assessing dependants' allowances.

I think my hon. Friend will find that the War Office practice for dependants' allowance is in line with the practice of the War Service Grants Committee in dealing with dependants.
