Action has already been taken in this case. The Bridgvic Club, Dean Street, was entered by the police on two occasions recently under the Licensing and Gaming Acts, observation having disclosed liquor irregularities and unlawful gaming by means of an automatic machine; on the second occasion intoxicating liquor found on the premises was seized. On the 17th April the manager and secretary were charged with licensing and gaming offences and were convicted, the fines and costs amounting to £98 5s. The club was struck off the register, and an Order was also made for the destruction of the automatic gaming machine which had been seized by the police under the Gaming Act.
