Oral Answers to Questions — National War Effort – in the House of Commons on 20th April 1944.
asked the Minister of Labour if he will examine, with the Service Departments, the desirability for security reasons of withdrawing labour wasted in the manufacture and public sale of Service caps, metal Service buttons, woven or metal badges, etc.
I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave on 30th March to the hon. Member for Twickenham (Mr. Keeling). After consultation with the Service Departments, I am satisfied that no further action is necessary for security reasons.
May we take it from the right hon. Gentleman's answer that the Service Departments are now also completely satisfied?
Yes, Sir.
