asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether it is the intention to grant petrol allowances to officers and men of His Majesty's Forces when on leave; and, if not, will he consider the possibility of making this concesson?

Major Lloyd George:

The petrol allowances for which Service personnel are eligible are set forth in instructions issued by the Service Departments. My Department has now agreed with those Departments that until further notice the quantity of the allowance and the conditions of grant shall remain unchanged.
