A provisional list of designated clothing firms will be published shortly. The Board of Trade have been advised on designation by the trade associations concerned, of which I will circulate a list in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The object of designation is to secure an adequate volume of Service and utility production, having regard to local demands for munition labour and factory and storage space. The list has been drawn up in consultation with the Ministry of Labour and National Service, the Admiralty, the Ministry of Supply and the Ministry of War Transport.
