No proposals have as yet been received for rural housing in Jamaica. My Noble Friend will, however, be glad to convey my hon. Friend's suggestion to the Governor, although I feel sure it has not escaped Sir Frank Stockdale's attention.
Is it not rather extraordinary that nothing has been done about this matter up to now, especially in view of the fact that almost all the materials required can be secured in Jamaica and would not have to be imported?
The Comptroller has made a great, many recommendations, and these will be considered as soon as possible. I will convey this particular suggestion to the Comptroller.
