asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that the egg ration is causing concern owing to people in the same food area not getting their allocated number; and will he take steps to even this out and thus remove this particular cause of discontent?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Major Lloyd George):

I am assured that retailers are getting their proper supplies of eggs, and if my hon. Friend will be kind enough to furnish specific details of the cases he has in mind. I will have immediate inquiry made.

In one locality one trading firm can get their rationed supplies and another cannot, which is causing great concern to many people. Cannot the right hon. and gallant Gentleman get the food controller in that area to take some action?

Major Lloyd George:

If the hon. Gentleman will tell me exactly where it is, I will see that it is done at once.

I will do that.
