asked the Minister of Supply the value of orders for tubes and tube fittings given by Government Departments during the past 12 months to firms represented on the Tube Board and to firms not so represented; and on whose advice these orders have been so allocated?

It is not in the public interest to give the information asked for in the first part of the Question. The Production Departments concerned take responsibility for the placing of all direct Government orders.

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that great dissatisfaction exists among a number of the smaller firms concerning the allocation of contracts, and will he have an inquiry made at which these firms can state their case?
