asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will take steps to extend the privilege now given to soldiers on leave from the Orkneys to personnel on leave from Northern Ireland by granting motor licence leave permits and petrol allowances?
I have been asked to reply. This proposal would involve increased petrol consumption, and I regret that I cannot see my way to give effect to it.
