In deciding whether a motor-vehicle repair undertaking should be Scheduled under the Essential Work Order my Department acts in consultation with the Ministry of War Transport. Undertakings which wish to be Scheduled may make application to the Regional Transport Commissioner. Due regard is had to the present and potential importance of the undertaking, and, if necessary, it is inspected by the Ministry of War Transport. There is no formal right of appeal against a decision not to Schedule, but my noble Friend and I are prepared to consider representations from an aggrieved undertaking.
