asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply whether he is prepared to inaugurate schemes of work, and if necessary training, for full-time Civil Defence workers in their off-duty periods?
The Ministry of Supply has arranged through its regional organisation to bring to the notice of firms working for the Ministry which suffer from a shortage of man-power the facilities now available for the employment of Civil Defence workers subject to recall. Part-time employment presents many practical difficulties, which are now being examined.
