Oral Answers to Questions — British Army. – in the House of Commons at on 17 December 1941.
asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that most of the world is now involved in the war, and four-fifths of the population support our cause, he will consider taking steps to create an Allied War Council, to include the representatives of Great Britain, Russia and the United States of America, for the purpose of obtaining the closest co-operation on all matters affecting production, propaganda and the world scale strategy called for by President Roosevelt?
I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave yesterday in reply to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Bassetlaw (Mr. Bellenger).
As I am not asking an indiscreet question as to what steps His Majesty's Government are taking, but in view of the great public interest in this question and in the public statement by President Roosevelt calling for worldwide strategy, may I ask whether that is the policy of His Majesty's Government, and whether active steps have been taken to carry it out both as regards war organisation and production?
As was stated in the reply, all steps are being taken to ensure the utmost co-operation both in the field of strategy and the field of supply.
Will the right hon. Gentleman take fully into consideration the questions of production and war organisation, because without grand supplies there can be no grand strategy?
