asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply in respect of which materials ordered by his Department there are at present adequate arrangements for the pooling of scientific and technical knowledge on the part of firms concerned; and whether he proposes to take any steps in the near future to encourage more pooling of such resources in order to eliminate waste and ensure the maximum war effort?

It is the policy of the Ministry of Supply to arrange for the complete interchange of technical and scientific information on appropriate stores amongst contracting firms. The application of this principle is constantly being extended, under the guidance of the research and development staff of the Ministry.
