asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the hostile attitude generally adopted towards this country by the Vichy Government, he will use the railway and port facilities of Jibuti as much as we require and, if any hindrances are placed in our way by the Vichy Government, remove them?

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
