Resolved, That the Orders made by the Secretary of State for the Home Department under the Sunday Entertainments Act, 1932, for extending section one of that Act to the under-mentioned areas, namely: —

  1. (1) the Borough of Huntingdon;
  2. (2) the City of Liverpool; and
  3. (3) the Urban District of Litherland,
copies of which were presented to this House on 17th June, be approved." — [Mr. Whiteley.]

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
