Resolved, That for the purposes of any Act of the present Session (hereafter referred to as ' the new Act ') to make further provision to prevent excessive prices being charged for goods and excessive charges being made for performing services in relation to goods (including hiring and subjecting to a process) and to amend the Prices of Goods Act, 1939, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any expenses incurred by the Board of Trade under the new Act and any increase in the expenses of the Board under the Prices of Goods Act, 1939, which is attributable to the passing of the new Act." — (King's recommendation signified.) — [Mr. Lyttelton.]
