Resolved, That the Orders made by the Secretary of State for the Home Department under the Sunday Entertainments Act, 1932, for extending Section one of that Act to the under mentioned areas, namely—

  1. (1) the Borough of Lewes,
  2. (2) the Rural District of Easthampstead, copies of which were presented to this House on 7th April, be approved." —[Major Dugdale.]

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
